This website is dedicated to debunking government stories perpetuated by the mainstream media (MSM) as being true with certainty without any explanation of the purported certainty or in many cases the source of the news itself. Upon further investigation these stories turned out to be fraudulent and deceptively promoting an alternate agenda. In other words, these stories are bogus.
Title 18, United States Code, Section 371, prohibits conspiracies to defraud the United States or any branch of government. A "false" or "fraudulent" representation is one that is: (a) made with knowledge that it is untrue; (b) a half-truth; (c) made without a reasonable basis or with reckless indifference as to whether it is, in fact, true or false; or (d) literally true, but intentionally presented in a manner reasonably calculated to deceive a person of ordinary prudence and intelligence. The knowing concealment or omission of information that a reasonable person would consider important in deciding an issue also constitutes fraud.
Genuine news stories need to clearly present undisputed observations as facts and the rest as speculation or commentary, see The Scientific Method. Blind faith in elected officials should not be a substitute for fact-checking and a thorough examination of the historical context. Failure to expose and consider all the facts and ramifications of government actions is a recipe for injustice.
Historian Lord Acton observed that: "Power corrupts and absolute power corrupts absolutely." Defenders of personal liberties (a.k.a. liberals) tend to share in this belief. The US constitutional separation of powers can limit the power of most elected officials. However the constitution does not limit the influence of rich doners in selecting viable candidates during an election and earmarking government expenditures or political appointees.
